COMEY, Beatrice Elaine (Crossley)
1916 – 2013
Bea passed away peacefully at Inglewood Care Centre in West Vancouver on Friday August 30, 2013 in her 97th year. Her family was at her side. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 16, 1916. Bea is lovingly remembered by her children, Janice (Bill), Larry (Diane) and Patrick (Marissa). Her grandchildren are Paul and Colin Herrick and Sue Cheung and Dr. Robert Comey. There are nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bea was predeceased by her parents George and Clara Crossley and her brothers Fred, Arthur and Bob. Prior to her marriage to Patrick in 1940 Bea was a secretary with British American Oil Co. in Edmonton and Regina. The family moved from Edmonton to North Vancouver in 1952 where Bea was a gracious hostess to many of Pat's business associates and fine china factory owners from England. Her roast beef was always medium rare. Her roles as wife, mother and grandmother were her crowning glory. Bea and Pat celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in June 2005 (Pat's 90th and final year). She will be missed by all. The family thanks Royalty Home Care and Bea's caregivers for their loving care over the past six years. Thanks also to Dr. Kathleen Bell-Irving.
