Beatrice Garcia Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 1, 2011.

BEATRICE GARCIA - "BELLITA" age 97, of Fullerton, Ca departed this life to be with the Lord on July 31, 2011. She was born in Mission, Texas on April 27, 1914 to Graciano Gutierrez and Paula Cantu. As a young adult she devoted herself to studying the Word of God and became a teacher and leader. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed using this talent sewing dresses for her family and friends.
She married Patricio Garcia on May 12, 1940. After the accidental death of their two young children Ruben and Ramiro, in 1946, they consecrated their lives without reservation to the work of the Lord. Sister Bellita served in several positions of leadership in the women's auxiliary group, the "Dorcas" serving in positions of secretary, treasurer and vice president from 1949 through 1964. Bro Pat and Sister Bellita have been recognized as Pioneers of the Apostolic church and were well loved by everyone.
Together they worked in the ministry of the Apostolic Church in Yuma, Az, and Edinburg, Texas. In 1953 they moved to Los Angeles, Ca where they continued to serve the Lord in ministry and established several churches where the Lord gave them much fruit. They also worked full-time in a wheel shop to help support the family. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in May of 2005. In September of 2005 Rev. Patricio was called to be with the Lord. Together they ministered over 45 years, well into their 80's. Even in her 90's she was conducting a once-a-week Bible study, for 3 years, at the Senior Center in Placentia. She was a woman of prayer and great faith and gave her love freely to everyone she met.
Surviving children: Ruben, Elizabeth, and Alice: 9 Grandchildren: Eddie, Stephen, Tim, Trisha, Rick, David, Alan, Leslie, and Kristy: and 4 great grand-children; Jake, Allison, Katlyn and Kimberly.

Bea is the most beautiful lady I have ever known. She could just walk into a room and it would be brighter. She is now being rewarded to walk by sight not just by faith. I believe the Lord will have a hard time keeping pace with Bea.

"A word is dead if it is only said", a poet once wrote. Your book will keep your mom's life and memory alive; she will serve as a role model and an inspiration forever. The words, written down by her are now on record, in print, ALIVE. Though your mom's body will metamorphosis her spirit will live on in the people whose lives she touched.

Our most deep condolences to the Garcia Family on their great loss. Sister Bellita was a great inspiration in our lives. A remarkable woman of faith. A true "Dorcas" in all the meaning of the word. We know our Great Lord has a special place for her in Glory. May God grant the Garcia Family will and strength to keep moving foward in Jesus Name.

With deepest affection and respect we joined the many others who have called her "Tia Bellita". Though our father's first cousin, she was our "tia", full of love, grace, Godliness, and integrity. Her heart and spirit can best be described through "purity" in it's fullness, an example to all who knew her. You'll never be forgotten. The legacy she is leaving is both an example to all of us that it is possible to be steadfast to the end, and to not retreat from the most dire of challenges we will face in this journey called life. We believe that this scripture accurately reflects one of her deep felt desires - "One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in His temple." Ps 27:4.
With much love and affection,
Richard & Terry Cantu and family

We pray that this scripture provides the family and friends of Bellita with some joy and peace during this difficult time. Psalm 116:15 says, "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." Sincerely, Randy & Teresa Witt

We had the privilege of knowing this amazing lady through my 95-year old mom, they were friends from the Senior Center. We got invited to her 90-year old birthday party and became very good friends with her daughter Betty and her son-in-law Ron. Betty was one of the most LOVING and BEST daughters I have ever known and Ron was right there too, next to her, always serving Bea. Bea was a very loving, smiling and positive person... We shall miss her so. We know she is with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ.

Let not the cup of pain
overflow the heart,
But seek for the joy
That remains in memories,
Made sweeter by living,
And knowing that loss
is heaven's gain.

Our thoughts are with you.
