Born March 15, 1922 in Trout Creek, MI the son of Henry and Mary (Jarvey) Besonen, passed away July 13, 2011 at the age of 89. Bernard married Beverly Elizabeth Cunningham in Kingsley, MI on February 23, 1948 and she preceded him in death in 2009. Besides his loving wife, Bernard was also preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers and sisters. Bernard served our country in the Army in the South Pacific during WWII and retired from General Motors in 1987. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, watching sports and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Marla (Mark) Swanson of DeWitt, 3 grandchildren, Janell, Jacob and Jordyn Swanson, 2 sisters and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Monday, July 18, 2011 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes 205 E. Washington, Dewitt at 10:00am with Father Bernard Reilly officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at 9:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
