Bernard Louis Kologinczak, Sr., 66, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at his home in Bryan, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, March 7, 2014 at Christ the Good Shepherd Chapel, 600 South Coulter Dr., Bryan, TX 77803, followed by visitation until 8:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Christ the Good Shepherd Chapel with Reverend Monsignor John McCaffrey and Reverend Monsignor John Malinowski officiating. Entombment will be in the Monsignor Gleissner Mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bryan.
Bernard was born February 28, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Agnes Victoria Klodginski and Frank Albert Kologinczak. He attended school in Houston and served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart. On May 24, 1983 he married the love of his life, Deborah Campbell. In 1995, After the death of his mother, he and Debbie moved to Bryan in 1995 to help care for his father Frank.
Bernard owned and operated Kolo Technical, a Commercial Heating and Air Conditioning Company. He loved to work and could work on anything with moving parts, and could fix any and everything. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and his dog Blue. Bernard was a member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Gleissner Council 1834, and he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agnes. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debbie Kologinczak of Bryan; one son, Bernard Louis Kologinczak II and wife Erika of Bryan; daughters, April Williams and husband Ross of Katy, TX, Stacey Couch and husband Matthew of Houston, Brenda Marches and husband David of Hockley, TX, and Kimberly Stroud and husband Josh of New Braunfels, TX; four brothers, Julian Kologinczak and wife Gertrude of Houston, John Kologinczak, Frank Kologinczak and wife Lois, and Kenneth Kologinczak, all of Bryan; one sister, Diana Allen and husband Wayne of Bryan; twelve grandchildren, Kyndal, Corey, and Kierstyn Marches, Macey, Samual, Sawyer, and Rhys Couch, Alissa Kologinczak and Bernard Kologinczak III, Dominick Williams, and Hayley and Nathan Stroud.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
