Bertha Anderson
1922 - 2012
With her family by her side, Bertha passed away peacefully at Lake of the Woods District Hospital on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the age of 90 years.
Mom is lovingly remembered by her daughters: Judy (Vic), Lois, and Elaine (Lorry); her grandchildren: David (JoAnne), Cathy (Leo), Patrick (Vivianne), Laurie (Scott), Justin and Dylan; and her great grandchildren: Justin, Cody, Marc, Colton, Logan, Kyle, Julia, Owen, Carter, Cole, and Max. She is also remembered by her sister-in-law Ruth Kirkland, many nieces and nephews, and family friend Ken Marsch.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband Vic, brother Arvid, brother-in-law Allan, and son-in-law Leon.
Mom was born in Sunshine, Ontario on April 26, 1922. She later moved to Ingolf with her family where she met Dad, whom she married in 1946. They moved to Kenora in 1955 where they raised their family.
Mom enjoyed spending time with family, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and baking. In later years she enjoyed taking short trips with her daughters, Ruth and Ken. These involved lots of laughter and many fond memories.
Bertha was a member of the Lutheran Church and enjoyed her many get-togethers with the Martha group.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Private family interment to follow.
