Bettye Jean (Grigsby) Abney passed on to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 7, 2011.
She was born in Evansville, Indiana and raised her family in Lexington, Kentucky. Jean was active in the Church of the Nazarene for many years and had a deep faith in Jesus Christ throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jack Abney; daughter, Amanda Astley (Steven); son, Barrett Abney (Margaretta), all of Naples, FL; 9 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was 72 and had been a resident of Naples since 1987.
Visitation will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Alexander North Chapel with the funeral service following at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Evansville.
