Mr. Bill L. Brown, 94, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his residence.
He was born June 22, 1919 in Centralia, IL. the son of Harry and Mae Andrews Brown. Bill was previously a resident of both Clifton and Toms River Townships in New Jersey. He was a member of the VFW, a veteran of the US Army serving in WW II and was retired after 35 years of service from the John Cooper Co. Bill also loved Big Band music, art and was an avid reader. He was an extremely intelligent and humble person, who enjoyed order in his life. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie Brown in March, 2014 and a brother, Capt. Harry L. Brown, USN.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy McGrath of Winston-Salem, NC and Gail Marie Brown of Clifton, NJ; four grandchildren, Keith and Allen Rafalko, Patricia Willet and Dayna Walker and husband, Jordon; four great-grandchildren; his caregiver, Barry Uhl; his dog, Brasco; his cat, Oreo and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 22nd in Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM, Saturday, April 19th at Frank Vogler and Sons, Clemmons Chapel.
