Billy Joe Faust, 81, of Texas City, passed away on Friday January 17, 2014 at Mainland Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday January 23, 2014 at 10:00a.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster with Charles Goodnight and Jason Freed officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster. Visitation will be Wednesday January 22, 2014 from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Faust was born August 8, 1932 in Atoka, Oklahoma. Billy grew up in Amarillo, Texas and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1950 before joining the United States Navy. He left the Navy in 1955 to return to college. He earned his Bachelor's degree from North Texas State University. Billy moved to Galveston, Texas to start working for the United States Army Corps of Engineers where he retired in January 1995. He was a member of the Mainland Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Louise Allen Faust and George William Baxter Faust; his son Sammie Blakely; and grandson Christopher Allen Faust.
Survivors include his wife Joan Blackwell Faust of Texas City; his sons: George Faust and wife Kimberly of Texas City, Jeffrey Faust and partner David Gunnels of Houston, and Robert Faust and wife Olivia of Hitchcock; granddaughters Isabelle Faust and Ilana Faust of Hitchcock; grandsons Isaiah Faust of Hitchcock, Riley Cooper and Ryne Cooper of Texas City, Jared Blakely of San Antonio and Jonathan Blakely of Katy; numerous other relatives and dear friends.
Pallbearers are Isaiah Faust, Riley Cooper, Ryne Cooper, David Gunnels, Jared Blakely and Jonathan Blakely.
Honorary Pallbearers are Joseph Staggs, Abel Rodriguez, Richard Dyer, and Will Dent.
