Bob J. Cromer, age 79, of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 9:08 PM at Wayne HealthCare Center in Greenville, Ohio. He was born on May 20, 1933 in Bison, West Virginia to the late Dewey and Della (Akers) Cromer.
Bob is survived by his son and daughter in law, John M. & Donna M. O'Brien of Greenville; daughter Bobbie Sue Stevens; grandchildren, Leah Eckstein of Ashland, Ohio and Jordan (Lydia) O'Brien of Arcanum, Ohio, Tiah Gaydos, Jessica adn Benjamin Manning; and soon to be great granddaughter, Jocelyn O'Brien.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Marion A. Cromer whom he married on May 16, 1965; daughter Sherry Lynn Gaydos; brother, Bill Cromer; sisters, Shirley Clark and Portie O'Neal; half brothers, Oliver, Ivan and Murl McKinney; and half sister Nellie White.
Bob worked for the City Transit in Dayton before retiring from Chrysler. He was a member of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses and loved hunting, fishing and playing the guitar.
There will be a service held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Brother Robert Fraley officiating. Burial will follow in the Newcomer Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12-2 PM at the funeral home.
