Bruce Wayne Alberts, 72, of Puyallup, passed away peacefully amongst family at his home on October 28th, after a battle with cancer. Bruce, the son of Fred and Donna Alberts and a native to the Seattle area, was born August 24th, 1940, grew up in Renton and graduated from Renton High School in 1958. Bruce served in the US Army during Vietnam, and married Peggy Burwell in 1966 that preceded him in death. He later married Lorrie Genis in 1981. Bruce was a business owner, and worked as a barber for many years at Auburn Valley Barber Shop which he opened and operated until he retired in 2011. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Puyallup, and enjoyed woodworking, restoring old cars, and in his later years, spending time with family and friends at their beach house in Ocean Shores. Bruce is survived by his wife, Lorrie and their six children Todd Alberts of Seattle, Paula Smithers of University Place, Allen Alberts of Kalispell, MT, Donna Laulo of Issaquah, Mark Alberts of Puyallup, and John Alberts of Puyallup, and 7 grandchildren as well as his sister Terri Hooper of Camano Island and his brother Roger Alberts of Shelton. A memorial will be held at 12:00 on Saturday, November 3rd at Bethany Baptist Church in Puyallup. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to World Vision or your favorite charity.
