Bryon J. Schroeder, age 56, of Hayward, WI passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014.
Bryon James Schroeder was born March 8, 1958 in Fairbault, MN the son of James and LouElla (Bjornson) Schroeder. He was raised in Fairbault until 1969 when his family moved to Atwater, MN. Bryon's love for snowmobiling began the day his grandfather won a snowmobile in a raffle and gave it to Bryon, this gift was the first snowmobile that Morristown had ever seen. He graduated from high school in Atwater with honors and accepted a full ride to the University of Minnesota for wrestling. In addition to wrestling, he held down numerous jobs and served in the National Guard to put himself through college, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Finance from the University of Minnesota. Bryon was an entrepreneur from the moment he spoke his first words, constantly thinking and planning what his next move was going to be. With the fear of failure pushed aside, Bryon never hesitated to jump at any opportunity that came his way. His entrepreneurial endeavors began when he opened a chain of laundry mats throughout the Minneapolis area and progressed into his beginning of Research Reality, a leader in the real estate community for the time. On September 26, 1986 Bryon was joined in marriage to Wendy Clunis. His family began to grow with the birth of his eldest daughter, Alyse Schroeder, in 1989 and was completed with the birth of his youngest daughter, Lauryn Schroeder, in 1994. In 1995 Bryon moved to Hayward, WI where he started Whiplash Lake Resort and shortly after opened Lost Land Lake Lodge. Because he could never pass up an opportunity, he soon after purchased Mrotek's Riding Stable and snowmobile dealership and developed it into Hayward Power Sports. Following the establishment of Hayward Power Sports, he purchased a restaurant first known as Wisconsin Beer Hunter and currently as Beer Bellies, and in addition he was also the owner of Timber Ford in Hayward. Humble in all of his endeavors, Bryon's entrepreneurship was driven by his generosity and desire to benefit the lives of others. For many years Bryon stood as president of Sawyer County Snowmobile and ATV Alliance and served on the governor's council for snowmobiling. Above all else, was the love he had for his two daughters. His support was unwavering in each and everything thing they did, especially if it meant being their coach during the logrolling and boomrunning season. Living his life by the simple quote, "ENJOY YOURSELF, IT'S LATER THAN YOU THINK.", Bryon touched the lives of many.
Bryon is survived by his two daughters, Alyse Schroeder of Minneapolis, MN, Lauryn Schroeder of Madison, WI; parents, LouElla Schroeder of Atwater, MN, James (Lyn) Schroeder of Bagley, MN; three siblings, Jayne (Brent) Schroeder of Hayward, Blake (Lori) Schroeder of Atwater, MN, Pamela (Loren) Peterson of Ashland, WI; and five nephews and four nieces.
