C. R. (Chet) LaRue was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on August 21, 1918 to John H. and Margaret LaRue.
On November 10, 1942, Chet LaRue proudly had his first set of wings presented to him by the U.S. Air Force at Craig Field in Selma, Alabama. After receiving his wings, his first mission was to serve in the China- Burma-India (CBI) Theatre of War. On October 18, 2013, he received his 2nd set of wings. Chet's mission was to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Chet was preceded in death by his son Rob. He is survived by his loving wife and friend of 71 years, Marilyn, daughter Missy and husband Charles Chitwood and his brother, James F. LaRue and his wife Mary. He is also survived by his 2 granddaughters, Shelley and Shannon and their families.
Chet was a graduate of Penn State University School of Engineering with a Petroleum Engineering degree. He retired as Senior Technical Advisor for Exxon Corp. in 1986. He enjoyed woodworking and travelling in his retirement.
A graveside service will be held Monday October 21, 2013 at 2:00PM at Resthaven Memorial Park.
