Brown, Carl Eugene "Gene", age 83 of Knoxville, passed away December 29, 2012. He was a member of Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He served 5 years in the United States Air Force during the Korean War; retired from United Airlines after 33 years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents William A. and Josephine L. Brown, brothers Ernest Paul, Hobert L., and Roy E. Sr. Brown, sister Louise Wolfe.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Colette Brown, children and spouses Diane and Jack Plaga, Anne and Jerry Rackley, Michael L. and Jane Brown and Peggy and Dave Kimball, grandchildren Joseph Clifton, Nicole Ferdin, Clint Vogelsang and Sabrina Heath and 6 great grandchildren, brother William M. Brown, sisters Helen Gentry and Dorothy Robertson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 5-6pm in the Lynnhurst/Greenwood Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 6pm with Dr. Thomas Sweet and Rev. Fran Vickers officiating. Friends may leave their condolences at www.lynnhurstchapel.com.
