Carl Courter, 90 of Bloomington passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the IU Health Hospice.
Carl was born on July 24, 1922 in Indianapolis to Herschel and Eva Finch Courter.
Carl spent over 3 years serving in the Coast Guard aboard the ice cutter, the Eastwind in the northern seas and Greenland.
He and his loving wife Jeanne Pruett Courter were married nearly 68 years. He spent 32 years serving as parts manager for Harry Stephens Oldsmobile.
Beside his wife he has one son, Robert who survives along with three grandchildren Debbie(Paul) Whiting of Tennessee, Michael of Bloomington and Troy Courter(Diana)of Alaska.
He is also survived by one sister Norma Hill of Bloomington. He was a member of the American Legion Post 18.
The funeral service will be held at the Valhalla Chapel on Monday, February 18, 2013 with Rev. Harold Godsey presiding. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to IU Hospice House.
