Carl M. Grubic, 88, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Homeland Center.
He was born November 1, 1924 in Steelton, PA; graduated from Steelton High School; he was the son of the late John and Sadie Grubic; preceded in death by his brothers, John, Frank and Paul; and his sisters, Julia, Christine and Mary.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen (Pairits) Grubic; his son, Robert C. Grubic; granddaughter, Kristen, (Jamie) Hanford; great-grandchildren, Drew, Aubrey and Emma Hanford; his sister, Catherine Stock, of Lansdale, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He began his banking career at Union Bank, Bethlehem, PA and continued at Harrisburg National Bank and Trust Co., and Commonwealth National Bank, and retired from Dauphin Deposit Bank. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater.
He was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, where he served on the Finance Committee, and as an usher.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday until the time of service at the church.
