Carol Ann Meyer, 73, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Evansville Protestant Home. She was born July 4, 1939, in Louisville, KY, to the late Raymond and Louise (Struss) Meyer.
She graduated from Atherton High School in Louisville, KY, Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY with a Bachelor's degree in Music, and Peabody College (now Vanderbilt University) in Nashville, TN with a Master's degree in Piano Performance. Music was always the center and love of her life. She was active in the St. Paul's Episcopal Church choir in Evansville and also enjoyed a computer forum with friends around the world. Over her life she enjoyed cross-stitch, smocking and sewing. She retired as Editorial Secretary of Weavings Magazine published by The Upper Room.
Carol is survived by her brother, Stephen Meyer (Gail) of Louisville, KY; sister, Sharon Meyer Graham (Nelson) of Newburgh; nephew, Stephen Meyer, Jr. (Lisa) of Louisville, KY; nieces, Debbie Meyer Semak (Tony) of Louisville, KY, Laurie Graham Jones (Mike) of Evansville and Amy Graham Kemp Syra (Stan) of Owensboro, KY; nine great-nieces and nephews, who she considered as her grandchildren.
Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY, officiated by Rev. Dr. Richard Godbold, with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, and Saturday from 9:30 AM until service time at Highlands Funeral Home in Louisville.
