Carroll S. Attaway, 93, of Madisonville entered into rest Monday, August 6, 2012. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2012 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Marlin with Rev. Don Semonski officiating. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery, Rosebud, TX. Visitation with family will be two hours prior to service time.
Carroll was born July 25, 1919 in Como, TX to George Franklin and Carrie Hicks Attaway. Carroll loved to fish and work on tractors, cars and lawn mowers. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing 42. He was a member of Bedias Masonic Lodge # 651 and served in the U.S. Army. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Dorcas Attaway, his son Kenneth Attaway, four brothers, four sisters, one granddaughter, and one great grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Waunice Attaway of Madisonville, TX; sons, David Attaway and wife Lynda of Jacksonville, TX; Carroll Dean Attaway of Tyler, TX; daughter, Jean Rogers and husband L.R. of Big Sandy, TX; brothers, Warren and Juanita Attaway; Carrie Attaway, 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be John M. Anderson, James Bracewell, Jack D. Mallard, E.J. McDuffie, and Lonnie Hardamoc, Jr.
