Catherine Anzicek, 73, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on March 31, 2011, surrounded by loved ones. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Leo Anzicek, brothers Peter Anzicek, Stanley Anzick, Edward Anzek, and sisters Mary Buncic, Frances Bittner, and Sr. Mary Dorothy (Elizabeth) Anzicek. She is survived by her brother Leo Anzicek and sister Dorothy Perlik, many loving nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Catherine was born and raised in Kansas City, KS. She attended Holy Family Grade School and Bishop Ward High School, graduating in 1955. Catherine was a Sister of Charity of Leavenworth, KS teaching elementary school in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, California, and Missouri. While teaching in Lakewood, CO, she was also the Director of Religious Education at St. Bernadette Parish. After leaving the community, Catherine worked for Mountain Bell Telephone in Denver, CO, and AT&T in Orlando, FL, for 15 years. Returning to Kansas City, MO in 1990 she was employed as Director of Religious Education at St. Therese Parish for 20 years. She retired in 2008 and continued to volunteer her services to the parish. Catherine was a beloved sister, aunt, teacher, and friend to all. Some of Catherine's proudest moments were experiencing the love and support of her brothers and sisters. She celebrated the accomplishments of all of her nieces and nephews, experiencing every wedding, birthday, and birth with joy and love. Catherine never missed a birthday, always sending a card and loving message to her family. Her proudest career accomplishment was working with adults, parents, and children in their Catholic Faith Development. Visitation will take place, Tuesday, April 5, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. followed by Rosary Service at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 6 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation and funeral will be at St. Therese Parish, Parkville, MO, burial in Resurrection Cemetery.
