Catherine (Cathi) Lee Asti, 54, a resident of Prattville, AL, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 after a short illness. Cathi was born in Savannah, GA on January 1, 1958, graduating from Jenkins High School, and later moving with her family to Prattville. After marriage, she moved to the Newark, Delaware area, where she lived for a number of years before returning to Prattville to be closer to family. She was the proud mother of four children, and more recently gave her time as a caregiver to her parents. In 2009, Cathi achieved a lifelong goal of attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in legal studies, graduated cum laude from South University. Over these last few years, as a former breast cancer survivor, she gave her time as a volunteer with The Joy to Life Foundation to increase breast cancer awareness. She also loved her two dogs, Ewok Chewbacca and Batty, and her Alabama football! She is survived by her loving family, including her parents, Robert Emil (Bob) and Hazel Branch Lee of Prattville; her four children, Raymond Anthony (Tony) Asti of Prattville, Adriana Nikole (Nikki) and son-in-law Kevin Bell of Schertz, TX, John Salzman, Jr., of Rio Grande, NJ, and Kelly Cecilia Salzman of Prattville; her brother, Thomas Edward (Tom) and sister-in-law Linda Printy Lee, of Wetumpka, AL; four grandchildren, Christian Lucio Asti of Schertz, TX, Kayla Rhae Tatum of Montgomery, AL, Lydia Po Asti, of Wilmington, DE, and John Salzman, III, of Rio Grande, NJ; long-time companion Frank Mathews of Prattville, AL; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 1 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Prattville Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Prattville.
