Catherine "Katie" Spiller, 91, of Amarillo died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.
Mrs. Spiller was born March 28, 1921, in Sapulpa, Okla., to James and Hazle Miller. She was raised in Borger and graduated from The University of Texas in 1942. Katie married Hollis B. Spiller in 1942 and he preceded her in death in 2005. After retirement they moved to Amarillo from Houston in 1983. She was an active member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers.
Survivors include two sons; Richard Spiller of Georgetown and Jim Spiller of Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Deane Shokes of Menlo Park, Calif., and Catherine Spiller of Galveston; two brothers, Oth Miller and Dee Miller, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Myra Fowler of Amarillo and Bert Wade of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1601 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, TX 79102; or Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
