ALLEN, Charles J. "Charlie";
With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Charlie Allen at St. Mary's Hospital on Thursday January 12, 2012 at the age of 71. Cherished husband of 53 years to Elizabeth (nee Dockeray), and loving father to Major Debbie Allen of North Bay, Nancy Randell (Gordon) of Brampton, Greg Allen (Andrea) of Goderich, Jennifer Allen (Randy) and Derek Allen all of Kitchener, and the late Doug Allen (2005). Charlie will also be dearly missed by his best friend Buddy, and his grand children Josh, Nick, Becca, Rachael, Janet (Cory), Vangi, Ben and Alex. He was the oldest of 14 children to the late Charles and Irene (nee Gillings) Allen and is survived by 12 siblings, also cherished by two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in law, Charlie is predeceased by his in laws Norman and Muriel (nee Mitchell) Dockeray. Charlie Allen was a scout leader in the K-W area for 30 years and was a proud member of the Salvation Army for his entire life.
Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home 621 King St. W. on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate Charlie's life will be conducted by Major Sharon Wilson on Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Salvation Army Citadel , 75 Tillsley Dr., Kitchener with cremation to follow.
