Charles J. Hoke, 97, of El Dorado, AR, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born on August 21, 1915, to Henry G. and Lula Gall Hoke in Fairfield, IA.
Charles was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a graduate of the University of Illinois, and served as a former trustee of Lyon College. He was retired as Executive Vice President from Murphy Oil Corportation, where he was one of the original employees. He was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Geological Society of America, and the American Petroleum Institute.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Floy Neeley Hoke; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors are his daughters, Linda Hoke Bledsoe of El Dorado, and Marsha Hoke Hire (Don) of Birmingham, AL; granddaughter, Janet Bledsoe of Ft. Smith, AR; grandson, David Bledsoe of St. Lucia.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Young's.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, at the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Daniel Loomis officiating. Burial will be private under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
