Obituary
In memory of Charles Richard Ibatuan; a wonderful father, husband, brother, friend and loved one.
Charles was born in Yakima on March 17, 1949 and was raised in Wapato. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1967-1970 and fought in the Vietnam War from 1968 – 1969. Throughout his life, he enjoyed farming, driving truck, and raising chickens. He accomplished many things and left a lasting impression on those he loved.
Many memories surface to commemorate his life. One theme that we will all remember is his love for others in a sacrificial way. Charles' gift was serving others. His goals and aspirations came second to his love and concern for the well-being of others. He worked hard to give his family a better life; and as a testament to this he gave a kidney, a part of himself to his nephew Tony.
He will always be missed by his family; his wife Zenaida, his children Juan (Jason), Charles II (Antonieta), Joseph (Kathryn), Reynard (Lynn), Renilda (Brian) and four grandchildren (Charles III, Beatriz, Rhiane, and Andre). He was preceded in death by his father Jonny Vega and his mother Blanch Blaine.
There will be a memorial and potluck dinner at the Wapato Filipino Community Hall on Sunday December 30, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm for those friends and family wishing to celebrate Charles' life.
In honor of his life we, his loved ones, are committed to carrying on his legacy of selfless love.
