Charles (Chuck) James Meyer, 58, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at a local Abilene medical center.
Community Memorial Funeral Home will be handling all arrangements; private services with the family will be held at a later time.
Charles was born September 3, 1954 at Shepard AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from high school from Mount Olive, Illinois. Years later, Charles joined the Air Force where he served for 10 years. After the Air Force, he started driving trucks for 20 years as an owner and operator.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Lloyd of Abilene, Texas; his uncle, James Brandon of Abilene, Texas; his grandparents, Viron and Polly Brandon of Abilene, Texas and Arthur and Elnora Meyer of Mount Olive, Illinois.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Charles and Jerry Meyer of Cahokia, Illinois; one brother, Richard Meyer and wife, Kelly, of Abilene, Texas; step-sisters, Linda Ploesser and husband, Wayne, of Hillsboro, Missouri and Janet Brown and husband, Charlie, of Cahokia, Illinois; step-brother, Danny Gulledge of Alabama; one niece, Brittany Meyer of Abilene, Texas; and numerous aunts, cousins, step-nieces and step-nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
