AUBURN - Charles H. Seavey, 74, of Turner, passed away Sunday, March 17, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, after a long and courageous battle with numerous illnesses, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Portland, Sept. 17, 1938, a son of the late Pearle and Dorothy (Mogan) Seavey. He grew up in the New Gloucester area and attended local schools. After school, Charles worked various odd jobs in textiles until he became an assembly worker for General Motors. He worked with GM for more than 26 years until his retirement. After that he spent 10 years as a greeter at Walmart, a job he truly enjoyed because of his ability to a people person. He also owned and operated Trotter Race Track for many years. He had a passion for being around people and will always be remembered for being a very generous, gentle, loving and honorable man. Charles was a simple man and just loved socializing with his friends and spending quality time with his family. His illnesses took a toll on him but you would never know, his strength and endurance were truly amazing. He still had his wonderful sense of humor right up until the end. He is survived by his true love of his life, wife of 27 years, Mona Seavey of Turner; his three children, Gene Pinard and his fiancé, Paulette, of Poland, Mark Pinard and his wife, Christina, of Lewiston and Carrie St. Pierre and her husband, Eric, of Auburn; a sister, Carolyn Arsenault and her husband, John, of North Yarmouth; a sister-in-law, Rita Mogan of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren, Christopher, Chantelle and Keenan Pinard, Izik Juray, Arielle, Mikalla and Mariah St. Pierre; one great-grandson, Caiden Pinard; two nephews, Kevin and Joe Arsenault; and a niece, Crystal Hall. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Soleil Marie St. Pierre; and a brother, Richard Mogan.
