Chester G. Cramm, passed away, Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Baldwinville Manor Nursing Home in Baldwinville, MA. surrounded by loving family.
He was born in Gardner MA., December 6, 1922, the son of George E. and Alice A. (PLantier) Cramm. Mr. Cramm grew up in Gardner and was a 1941 graduate of Gardner High School. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served in the South Pacific during WW II.
He returned to Gardner where he worked for several companies before beginning a twenty five year career as a letter carrier with the US Postal Service, retiring in 1985. In addition, he was self employed, working in the construction business.
Mr. Cramm was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Troy Seniors. He also enjoyed bargain hunting at area flea markets.
He is predeceased by his wife of 29 years; Barbara A. (Genovese) Cramm, his first wife Edna Marie (Maillet) Cramm, his brothers: Robert C. Cramm, Richard Cramm, Leonard Cramm, Charles Cramm and sisters: Alice L. Bates, Dorothy Niemela and Marjorie Cramm.
Survivors include: six children: Barbara Shea of SC., George C. Cramm of Truckee CA., June E. Smith of Seagoville, TX., David M. Cramm of Hubbardston, MA., Richard A. Cramm of Gill, MA., and Robert J. Cramm of Westminster, MA., five stepchildren: Dr. Vincent Genovese of Greenville KY., Dr. Alan Genovese of Warwick MA., Dr. Paul Genovese of Glen Ellen CA., Dr. Richard Genovese of Rindge, NH. and Laura Genovese, RN, of Templteon, MA., as well as grand and great grandchildren.
A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated Monday morning at 11 o'clock at the Immaculate Conception Church, 33 School Street, Troy, NH. Friends are invited.
A committal service will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Plymouth MA., at a later date.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, gifts be made in Mr. Cramm's name to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH. 03446.
