Christopher Robin Atatise

Christopher Robin Atatise was born on February 2, 1982 in Fort Frances, Ontario. He was raised in Lac La Croix First Nation, and lived in Fort Frances as a young man. He was the eldest son of Phyllis and Richard Pierson. Christopher had an outgoing and friendly personality, and a great sense of humour. He had a huge heart, always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He was a gentle person who loved everyone unconditionally. Christopher lived each day to the fullest. He enjoyed music and loved to dance. Among his favourite hobbies were crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, and going to concerts. Most of all, Christopher loved spending time with family and friends.
Christopher will forever be remembered for his humbleness and free-spirited nature. His courage and strength will be carried on through his family and friends. His hope and faith will always be treasured by his loved ones. Christopher will continue to have an everlasting impression on all of those who had the honour to meet him. There are many things in this life that we do not understand but we must trust in the Creator`s judgment and be guided by his hand. Christopher suddenly passed away on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the LaVerendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ontario.
Christopher is survived by his loving parents Phyllis and Richard Pierson of Fort Frances; sister Carmen Atatise (Cedric); brother Jermaine Atatise (Courtney ); grandmothers Bessie Atatise and Alice Johnson; Aunts and Uncles Brenda Skead, Gladys Geyshick (Billy), Audrey Brown (Howard),Robert Atatise (Debbie), Rick Atatise (Peggy), Priscilla Jourdain (Greg), Lester Atatise, Brian Atatise, Doreen Skinaway (Ron), Roland Atatise, and their families, as well as best friend Stephanie Boshey and her daughter Haleigh. Christopher will be greatly missed by numerous cousins and close friends.
Christopher was predeceased by his grandfather Robert Atatise Sr.; Uncle Ryan Atatise, cousins Adrienne Brown and Lance Geyshick.
A wake was held Monday, May 9, 2011 at the residence of Howard and Audrey Brown, and a traditional service followed on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Lac La Croix First Nation. A traditional burial took place at Lac La Croix First Nation.
The pallbearers will be close friends of the family.
