Christus Arvanitakis, age 87, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Flower Hospital.
He was born in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania on November 11, 1923 to George and Christine Arvanitakis.
Christus was a WWII veteran with General Patton third Army 90th Infantry Division.
He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 606, American Legion Post 135, Young at Heart, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral and Ahepa member.
Christus was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Freda Arvanitakis; his parents and sister.
He is survived by his nieces, Christine and Alice (Marvin); and friends, Vogiatzis family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 19 in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 802 N. Superior St.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, (419-473-1301) 3219 Tremainsville Rd. where Ahepa service will begin at 6:30 p.m. and Trisagon prayers will be recited at 7 p.m.
