Clarence E. Angevine, 91, of Coldwater, formerly of Allen, passed away Tuesday March 26, 2013 at the Community Health Center of Branch County. He was born March 7, 1922 in Highland Park, MI to Byron and Myrtle (Salisbury) Angevine.
Clarence retired from the State Regional Center and later provided canteen services to The Eckrich Co. and worked with the youth of Hillsdale County. He was a decorated war hero, serving during WW II and Korea. He was a Marine Sgt. who served in the South Pacific and received the Navy Cross. He has been a member of the VFW, was an avid bowler and was a driver for the Amish.
He is survived by his children, Roy (Mary L.) Angevine of Allen, Jill (Gert) Jenson of Kalamazoo, Allen (Teresa) Angevine of Bronson, Mary (Gordon) Anderson of FL, Jean (Gerald) Jowers of Panama City, FL, Jamie (David) Hyde of Reading and Michael Briner of Hillsdale. He is also survived by several grand and great grandchildren and a sister, Delores Angevine of Chesterfield Twp., MI. He was preceded in death by two brothers Byron and Joseph.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater. Funeral services will be held Thursday with one hour of visitation before the service at 1:00 PM from the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will follow in the Allen Cemetery.
