NEWSPAPER OBITUARY FOR CLARENCE EDWARD "EDDIE" ROSE
Westville, OK- Funeral services for Clarence Edward "Eddie" Rose will be held on Saturday, October 27th. 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Reed-Culver Chapel . Interment will take place at Ross Cemetery in Tahlequah, OK.
Clarence Edward "Eddie" Rose was born on April 10th, 1940 in Tahlequah, OK the son of Clarence Albert and Pearlie Mae (Hammons) Rose. He attended school in Tahlequah, OK. Eddie devoted his life to serving the communities of Cherokee and Adair Counties through his 47 years as a Law Enforcement Officer. Eddie served as a Lake Ranger until his passing as well as an Oklahoma Mounted Police Officer, and a United States Marshall. He married and had four daughters, Wanda, Teresa, Jerree, and Emily. His job took up a great deal of his time. Whenever he had free time, Eddie loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was an equestrian lover and enjoyed time spent with his horses. He had an orchard and raised peach and pear trees. He was a recording artist and produced an album of country music, and wrote music as well. Eddie performed on the "Jude and Jody Morning Show" every Saturday morning for five years, referred to as the "John Chick Show", on Fox 23. It was because of Eddie's love of people and his great sense of humor and quick wit, that Eddie never met a stranger. Eddie was everyone's friend. He helped start the Help-In-Crisis Foundation in Tahlequah, OK. He had a soft spot for little children and always made sure to have a pocket full of suckers for the little ones he met on a daily basis. Eddie was a member of the FOP and a member of the Peggs Methodist Church. After he retired, he enjoyed the morning cup of coffee with all of his buddies to catch up on the latest around town. Eddie was called home to his eternal rest on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Stilwell, OK. Eddie was 72 years old. He will be fondly remembered by the many friends and families he has helped during his lifetime.
Eddie is preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers, Troy Rose , Arlie Rose and three sister, Clovia Collins, Oma Booth, and Betty Davis.
Those left to cherish Eddie's memory include his daughters, Wanda Evans and husband Marty of Westville, OK, Teresa Ellis and companion James Smith of Tahlequah, Jerree Stoneburner of Lawton, MO and Emily Crites of Enid, OK. Eddies companion Pat Ballard of Tahlequah, OK. Eddie's brothers and sisters include Harvey Rose and wife Shirley of Peggs, Virgil Rose and wife Betty of Terlton, OK, Jim Rose, Jerry Rose and wife Brenda of Tulsa, Leona Gonzales and husband Edmundo of Oklahoma City, Edna Owens of Tulsa, OK, Geneva Wilson and husband Leon of Peggs, OK, and Kathey Davis and husband Jr. of Norman, OK.Eddie leaves loyal friends Bob Green, and LeRoy and Charleen Tramell. Eddie's legacy lives on in his 11 grandchildren, Jeramy, Betty, Crystal, Kassandra, Desiree, Glen, Joshua, Fonda, Ashley, Scotty, and Sara. His eleven great grandchildren include Broc, Mae, Laynee, Madison, Alexis, Bladen, Chasedin, Xanzer, Dashoynn, Victoria and Michelle, sister-in-law, Lucille Rose of Vinita, OK, brother-in-law, Buddy Davis of Luther, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
