Clayton Stewart, 69, of Grandview, MO, died December 15, 2012. Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, at First Baptist Church, 1416 Main St., Grandview, MO 64030. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Clayton was born September 10, 1943 in Blackwell, OK to Clyde and Mattie Stewart. He was a graduate of Washburn University. He worked as a salesman for: Sinclair Oil Co, General Box Co., Mechanics Choice / Avnet, and Fastenal. He later worked as an independent courier, most recently for UPS Solutions. Clayton retired in 2009.
As a member of the First Baptist Church of Grandview, Clayton served as a deacon and bus driver. His hobbies included bowling, slot car racing and playing pitch – especially with his grandsons.
Clayton was preceded in death by: a son, Jerry Stewart, in 1988; a sister, June Coombs; and a brother, Albert Meeting. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat, of the home; a daughter, Trisha (Scott) Neal; four grandchildren, Isaac, Jordan, Faith and Blake Neal; sisters, Helen (Chet) Nickelson, of Valley Center, KS; and Bettie Markham, of Murfreesboro, TN; many nieces and nephews.
