Clive Williams Jr., born January 23, 1924 in Electra, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013, in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Clive married his high school sweetheart, Cecile Marie Hodges, in Electra in 1942. Shortly thereafter, Clive joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific theater. After returning from the war, Clive was in the Texas Army National Guard for 20 years and attained the rank of Major.
Clive received a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M in 1954. After graduation, he had a successful 32 year career at Texas Instruments in Dallas. He was a life member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Reserve Officers Association.
Clive and Cecile were married for 60 years, and they had two children, Susan Marie (Williams) Brown from Marfa, Texas, and James Christopher Williams from Hobbs, New Mexico. He also had two grandsons, Sean Matthew Williams and Erik Michael Williams.
Clive is survived by his daughter Susan Brown and her husband, Steve; his son, Chris Williams and his wife, Linda; his sister Dee Adams and his brother James Donald Williams, two grandsons and numerous great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 7, 2013, in the Chapel at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas. Burial will follow in New Electra Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 6.
