Constance M. Black

October 29, 1917 - March 6, 2012
Constance M. "Connie" (Plant) Black, age 94, of Fall River, died March 6, 2012 in Adams House. She was the wife of the late Gilbert Black.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late William and A. Winifred (Gesner) Plant, she spent her youth in Fall River, moved to Portsmouth, RI in 1963, returning to Fall River in 1998. She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1935, and Thibodeau Business School.

A bookkeeper, she worked for former Leary Press in Fall River for over 30 years, retiring in 1987. An active member St. Luke's Episcopal Church, she was former treasurer, member of the choir and vestry, a lay reader and LEM. While living in Portsmouth, she was a member of the Senior Center.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. At her request, visiting hours are omitted and a Graveside Service was conducted. Contributions in her honor may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 315 Warren St., Fall River, MA 02721. Arrangements in the care of WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE, Fall River.
