Ann Zack (Cora Beaver)
Wapato, Washington
Cora was born February 24, 1935 to Nancy (Harjo) and John Beaver Sr. in Hughs, OK. While growing up she attended Bethel Elementary, Yeager High School, and Haskell University. She majored in Business Administration, played basketball, softball, square danced and was involved with the Methodist Youth Fellowship. She then moved to San Francisco and worked for the BIA for 2 ½ years and met her life long companion and husband Donald Zack.
They traveled to various places as Don pursued work as a construction worker, while living in Seattle, WA their daughter Vickie was born on December 4, 1966. They lived in Denver CO. where she worked at the Colorado Health Science Center for 12 years and was actively involved with the Tall Bull Council Mayor Committee, Board of Indian Education, Indian Center Committee, and numerous Church Committees.
They returned to Wapato where she attended McKinley Indian Mission Church and traveled to Alabama and other church communities where she made many wonderful friends.
Ann is survived by husband Donald Zack; daughter Victoria Zack; grandsons Donald (Gabriel) Zack, John Zack, Leroy Owens, Cameron Owens, Vernon Jr. Owens, and Joshua Owens; sisters Noreen Tiger and Wanda Postoak.
A special thanks to Mike and Sherrie Bushman and family; and the Hospice ladies Karen, Shirley and JoAnn who took very good care of her during her illness. We are sorry we can't mention everyone but know she loved you all.
A Wake Service will be held on February 14, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at the McKinley Mission Church with a Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the Logie-Umtuch Cemetery.
