Donna Lou Aukett, age 77 Born in Detroit, Michigan on May 28, 1934 passed into eternal rest on December 24, 2011. She graduated from Harper Grace School of Nursing in Detroit, Michigan. Donna was a career Registered Nurse and retired from Oakdale Regional Center in Lapeer, Michigan. She was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church and volunteered many hours for the church and with Food for Families. She is survived by her two daughters Nina Roessler and Julie Aukett, Grand children Daniel Roessler, Emily Roessler and Savannah Barnes and great grandson Aidan Phelps.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Irene Anderson and sister, Lois Bates.
Cremation has taken place. On January 7, 2012 at 11:00 am A Celebration of Life Memorial service will officiated by Rev. Susan C. Rich of Grace Episcopal Church, 735 West Nepessing St, Lapeer, MI 48846 with a luncheon immediately following.
Donna was an inspiration to her family and friends. She was a very strong and generous, kind-hearted woman always thought of others before herself. Donna touched many hearts and will be greatly missed. Memorial Contributions may be given to Grace Episcopal Church.
