Dale L. Bettin, 82, of Davenport, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in Davenport. Funeral services will be 11:30 AM, Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Dale was born October 23, 1930 in Lakeview, IA; the son of William and Mahala (Hillman) Bettin. He married LoisWilcox; they later divorced. He married Florence Richardson in 1969; she preceded him in death in 1977. He later married Nellie Donahue on October 23, 1981 in Davenport; she preceded him in death on September 4, 2006. He entered military service on April 13, 1951 with the United States Army. Dale received two Bronze stars for service in Korea and was honorably discharged on January 13, 1953. Dale was baptized at The Salem Reformed Church, rural Odebolt. He renewed that baptismal vow through the rite of confirmation at Peace Lutheran Church, Wall Lake on June 23, 1946. He worked as a bartender at Bowlmor Lanes for over thirty years and also worked at Douglas Machine for seventeen years prior to his retirement. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Those left to honor his memory include son, Randall Sorensen, Coralville, IA; step-daughter, Jo (Steve) Lundquist, Moline, IL; step-sons: Victor (Judy) Hahn, Reynolds, IL and Rick Hahn, VA; step-grandchildren: Jenna (Kacy) Kelly, Melissa Lundquist, Stephanie Wallace and Michelle Templeton; four step-great grandchildren Alex, Haley, Justin and Savannah, known to Dale as Pennsylvania; brother, Wesley; and two sisters-in-law Darlene (Mrs. William) and Mary Lou (Mrs. Jim). He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Eugene and three wives. Also the following siblings and their spouses; Lawrence (Marie), Catherine (Alvin) Lange, Helen, Sarah (Rudy) Dalebout, Robert (Bernice), Esther (Leo) Geyer, Wanda (Floyd) Dierenfeld, Joseph, Doris, Dennis, William, Jim and sister-in-law LaVerna (Mrs. Wesley).
