Danny Cochran, 59, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 at Kindred Hospital Unit of Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Florida. An Alabama native, he was born November 25, 1953 to Dewey and Pauline (Johnson) Cochran. Danny held talents in a number of professional trades in his life, but was also a police officer, retiring at the rank of sergeant with the Eufaula Police Dept., Eufaula, Alabama. He moved to Homosassa eight years ago from Abbeville, Alabama and was also an evangelical minister in the Church of God and a member of Crystal River Church of God, Crystal River, Florida. He is survived by his wife Lynda Gail Cochran, with whom he shared 14 years, of Homosassa, FL; children Marsha Hegdahl (husband Brian), Amy Coleman (husband Mike), Mike Cochran (wife LaShell), Mark Padgett (wife Diane), Sheila Calloway (husband Calvin) and Angela Vanhoose (husband Scott), brothers Johnny and Jimmy Cochran; sister Sarah Carey; thirrteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a sister. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Crystal River Church of God, 2180 NW 12th Avenue, Crystal River, Florida with Bishop Ronnie Reed officiating.
