Daryl Eugene "Gene" Baker, 82, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at his home.
He was born September 1, 1929 in Newburg, PA, he was the son of the late William and Grace (Shehan) Baker; preceded in death by his wife, Dolores (Drumheller) Baker; his baby daughter, Diana Jean Baker; three brothers, Ernest, Allen and Gary Baker; and his brother-in-law, Eugene Diveglia.
He was a retired produce manager for the Weis Markets at the former Progress Ave. store, and worked at the former Sanitary Laundry, Harrisburg; and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his three sisters, Mary Ann Baker, husband, Carl, and Joan L. Diveglia, both of Mechanicsburg, and Joyce M. Lash, husband, Leonard, of Harrisburg; his brother, Robert W. Baker, wife, Robin, of Mt. Joy; brother-in-law, Donald Drumheller, wife Julia, of Dayton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 1, 2012 followed by the Memorial Service at 3:00 PM in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. A private burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
