David George Barr, 54, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Rochester, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011. He was born June 27, 1956 in Rochester, son of James F. Barr, Sr. and the late Anna Mae (Walker) Barr. He was a graduate of Rochester Area High School and California University of Pennsylvania. During high school, David played on the varsity basketball team and also the saxophone with the band. He enjoyed watching sports on T.V. and listening to a variety of music.
David was preceded in death by his mother: Anna Mae (Walker) Barr in 1989. He is survived by his father: James F. Barr, Sr. and his wife Naomi, Tallahassee, FL; his sister: Joyce Barr, Pittsburgh; two brothers and sisters-in-law: James F. Barr, Jr. and his wife Elaine, Beaver Falls; and Michael and Janine Barr of Lansdale, PA; two nephews: Frederick Shegog, Johnstown, PA; Mychal Spencer Barr, Lansdale, PA; and many other loving members of his extended family and his friends.
Family will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). His celebration of life, home-going service will immediately follow the visitation. Interment will be in the Garden of the Good Shepherd, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
