Mr. David Benua, age 54, of Marblehead, died Sunday, May 30, 2010. He was the husband of Susan E. (Wilder) Benua, to whom he had been married for 30 years.
Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Richard Squier and Joan Anne (MacLellan) Benua. He grew up in Larchmont, NY and graduated from Mamaroneck, NY High School. He then received a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo in 1979. He lived in Marblehead since 1997.
For many years David was a computer consultant and one of the principals of Percussion Software of Woburn.
An avid sailor and avid cyclist, he was a member of the North Shore Cyclopaths and the North Shore Cyclists.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son Richard Benua of Marblehead; a brother Daniel Benua and his wife Sun of Portland, OR; 2 sisters Peggy Benua and her husband William Lindner of Coral Gables, FL and Laura Benua of Nyack, NY; his mother-in-law Joan Wilder of Queensbury, NY; a brother-in-law John Wilder and his wife Taru of Winter Garden, FL; a sister-in-law Nancy Wilder of Queensbury, NY; a niece Rachel Wilder; and a nephew Bryan Wilder.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Old North Church, 35 Washington Street, Marblehead on Monday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
