Died March 15, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 67. He is survived by wife of 35 years, Dr. Deborah Renner Hull of Tempe; daughter Heather Angela Hull of Carbondale, Illinois; Kevin David Hull of Tempe; sister F. Ellen Martin of Tempe; and niece Linda Martin of Tempe. David was the owner of Tempe remodeling & Repair for more than 15 years. A graduate of the Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University and Tempe Union High School (Class of 1963). He was known as the "Bathroom King" of Tempe for his tile work and remodeling expertise. He worked with creative staff and designers at Habitat in Tempe, crafting custom interiors for restaurants and retail establishments in the Southwest. He was an active member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, Rho Chapter, at Arizona State University, and was active in the Greater Phoenix Alumni Chapter. David served in the US Navy Sea Bees (Construction Battalion) in Viet Nam and was Honorably Discharged in 1972. From 1976-77, he worked in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia as a project engineer. His travels also took him on camel rides before Pyramids in Egypt, on horseback at the Never Summer Ranch in the Grand Tetons of Colorado, to the Epiphany Blessing by the Pope at the Vatican in Rome, skis on the Swiss Alps in Zermatt, cruises of the Mediterranean, great art encounters at the Louvre in Paris, a couple pints of Brownie in London, a celebration of his 30th wedding anniversary on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera, and all the way down the Grand Canyon. Three times. He served as Scout Master of Troop 177 in Tempe and was proud of the accomplishments of the young men who participated in all of the activities. He was a Rainbow Dad for Rainbow Trail Assembly #16 in Chandler, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, and a larger-than-life presence at University Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to University Lutheran Church, the Salvation Army, the American Red Cross, and Disabled American Veterans. Services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at University Lutheran Church, 340 E. 15th Street in Tempe.
