David George Thomas, 84, of Cary, died Monday, October 29, 2012 at his home.
David was born April 5, 1928 in Belleville, PA to the late David R. Thomas and Pauline Wisehaupt Thomas. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University. David was employed as a mechanical engineer with Lord Corporation for over 43 years of service. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
David was preceded in death by his sisters, Sarah Thomas; Martha Egan; and Dorothy Harpster.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen George Thomas; sons, David L. Thomas of Cary; Steven Thomas of Westfield, IN; and 3 grandchildren, Anna; Natalie and Justin Thomas all of Westfield, IN.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1500 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27608. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
