David Joel Vanzandt
Funeral services for David Joel Vanzandt, 96, of Hanceville, formerly of Welti, will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Welti, Rev. Randy Sellers officiating with burial at Welti Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1 - 2 p.m.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Vanzandt died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born to Lawrence and Elizabeth Thomas Vanzandt on May 27, 1916. He was a World War II veteran and retired from NASA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Clara Vanzandt; five sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include a number of friends, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church building fund; 5041 Co Rd 703; Cullman, AL 35055.
Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
