Don Robert Campbell, 69, born October 28, 1943 passed away December 30, 2012 peacefully at his home in Fayetteville, Tennessee.
Born to Dorothy Ann and Franklin Earl Campbell in Birmingham, Alabama, Don grew up knowing what a hard day's work meant. After graduation from high school, Don married the love of his life, Peggy Ann Widner and soon after they started their family. By the time their third child was born they had moved to Kansas City, Missouri where Don worked for KW Dart for 20+ years. Don later went to work for Farmland Industries in McPherson, Kansas which he retired from. Returning to his roots, Don moved back to Fayetteville, Tennessee and built a home on his farm. There, Don enjoyed some travel, but mostly enjoyed the laid back lifestyle of country living. He never met a stranger and had some of the most interesting and funny stories. His story telling will be missed most by all who knew and loved him.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years Peggy Ann Campbell, parents Franklin Earl and Dorothy Ann Campbell and brother, E. W. Campbell.
Survived by his children; Rebecca Turner and husband Richard of Brooklyn, Iowa, Angela Parmenter and husband Douglas of Kansas City, and Donald Campbell and partner Bradley Shinn of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Elizabeth Reed, Dakota Parmenter, Joshua Turner, Jesse Parmenter and Jennifer Halverson, 9 great grandchildren, sister Peggy Wilburn and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Avalon Hospice for their dedicated and loving care of Don.
