GYSGT Donald Lee Jones USMC retired, 84, of Jacksonville died January 22, 2013 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.
He was a retired United States Marine Corps Veteran of 21 years. He was preceded in death by his wife: Evelyn Sturges Jones; sons: Donald Lynn Jones, David Lee Jones; daughter: Deborah Ann Wood.
A Funeral Service will be Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend James Warren officiating. Burial will follow at the Coastal Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery with military honors.
He is survived by his daughter: Denise Jones of Jacksonville; brothers: Richard Jones of Falls Mill, Va., Michael Jones of Falls Mill, Va.; sisters: Ann Brooks of Newport, Va., Jan Lovell of Elliston, Va., Patricia Bailey of Dade City; grandchildren: Joseph Niedermeyer, Anthony Shane Jones, Richard Allen Jones, Shannon Marie Britain, Amanda Lyn Britain; great grandchildren: Justine Elizabeth Jones, Kaylee Marie Cardona, Gabrielle Deborah Niedermeyer, Gavin Phillip Graves.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
