Doris M. Adams, 82, of Evansville, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011, at VNA Charlier Hospice Center. She was born July 17, 1928, in Richland, IN to the late Ted and Grace Miller.
She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and helping others in need. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #1114.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Charles W. Adams; and sisters, Nina Herndon of Fenton, MO and Judy Fortune of Richland, IN.
She is survived by her sons, Randy Adams and Steve Adams; daughter, Sharon Harper, all of Evansville; sister, Charlotte Craig of Boonville; brother, Morris Miller of Evansville; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 13, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Carl Jones. A brief graveside service will also be held Friday at 1:00 PM in Shiloh Cemetery in Reo, IN, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Charlie. Friends may visit Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
