Doris Bauer, (Griffith), age 81 of Commerce Twp., passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012. Beloved husband of Bill for 58 years, Loving mother of Ceci (Tim Flynn) Bauer, Beth (Bob Wallick) Bauer, Matt Bauer, Colleen (David) Maxwell, Steve (Michelle) Bauer and the late Michael Bauer, proud grandmother of 9, sister of Keith (Marilyn) Griffith. Doris enjoyed playing tennis and golf. Before leaving to raise her family, she taught in the Ann Arbor and Madison heights areas. She volunteered at Beaumont Hospital for over 25 years and was past president of the Oakland County Medical Society Auxiliary. The memorial visitation will be on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Rd., Highland with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at St. Patrick Church, 9086 Hutchins Rd., White Lake. The family will greet visitors at the church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial Mass at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Angela Hospice, Alzheimer's Association or Open Door.
