Doris McNeill died November 11, 2012 at her daughter's home in Lafayette. She was 89 years old. Doris was born in Sidney, Nebraska to Reginald and Aletta LeSueur on April 26, 1923.
Doris moved to Boulder in 1941 to go to Colorado University. She met George McNeill and married in 1942. They were married 61 years. They owned and operated several businesses. In 1942 to 1950, they operated Colorado Coal Company. Then she worked at Esquire-Cornet Subscription Service. Later, they began George McNeill Towing, Boulder Trailer Service and Supplies, and McNeill Mobile Homes until they retired in 1978. At this point, they rented their store to Boulder RV Service.
Doris became active as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1948.
Doris is survived by children Nicolette Bascom of Lafayette and Reginald McNeill of Buena Vista; six grandchildren-Rocky Bascom of Firestone, Kimberly Bascom of Lafayette, Dustin McNeill of Poncha Springs, Crystal McNeill of Canon City, Jessica McNeill of Buena Vista, and Jennifer Leverett of Canon City; eight great-grandchildren-Mitchell, Wyatt, and Morgan Bascom, Hailey, Kaeston, Blazye, and Bentlee McNeill and Cody Leverett.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, George McNeill and grandsons Victor and Dale Bascom.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6783 Baseline Road in Boulder.
