Doris R. Rogers, 80, of Parkersburg, passed away May 8, 2012 at Worthington Manor.
She was born Oct. 24, 1931 in Vienna, WV, a daughter of the late Chelsea L. and Gaynel Tracy Reed. Doris graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1949 and the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. She was the Head Nurse at CCMH when they first opened their ICU. She was a member of the CCMC Hospital Auxiliary and a Red Cross volunteer. Doris retired as the office nurse and surgical assistant for Dr. R.C. Sims. She was a member of the North End Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of more than 60 years. Robert C. Rogers, Jr.; one daughter, Terri Milligan and her husband, Joe, of Parkersburg; one son, R. Michael Rogers and his wife, Betty, of Marietta, OH; and two grandchildren, Eric Milligan of Streetsboro, OH and Staci Milligan of Nashville, TN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Knapp.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Tom Butterfield officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
