Dorothy Buchanan Allen, age 90, died Thursday March 24, 2011 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Visitation is from 3-5 PM Sunday, March 27th and one hour before services at 11:00 AM Monday, March 28th at Wright & Ferguson on Highland Colony Pkwy. in Ridgeland.
She was a native of Vicksburg having worked as a hairstylist until her retirement in 1972. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church of Ridgeland.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry(Hank), her parents Mr. & Mrs. Fountain Hughes Buchanan, stepfather John Thomas Farris and brother Fountain Hughes Buchanan.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Ed) Schooler of Ridgeland, Brenda Allen of Madison, grandsons Joshua (Laurel) Schooler of Jackson, Wesley Schooler of St. Louis, MO and great grandson Blake Wing. She is also survived by her sister Lillian B. Flohr of Dallas, TX, brother Col.(Ret) John E. Buchanan of Oro Valley, AZ and several nieces and nephews.
